The environment changes with the seasons; for example, in winter, Derwentwater freezes, allowing players to drive on the ice to reach areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The seasons are fixed across servers, so all players experience the same conditions simultaneously. After completing a prologue series that introduces the four seasons, the shared world's seasons change weekly, occurring every Thursday at 2:30 PM GMT. A countdown clock warns players of the change, and when it finishes, a short cinematic cutscene showing the transition to the new season plays.

The game offers over 750 licensed cars. Players can purchase in-game houses to unlock new items, cars, and gameplay perks. "Wheelspins" provide random rewards and can be earned through story progression and specific seasonal challenges. The game's soundtrack is provided by the British drum and bass label "Hospital Records," featuring 20 original tracks.
